I’m almost certain, you’ll recognise the name Marie Curie. If you didn’t learn in school about the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, Madame Curie female scientist extraordinaire, you’ll surely know all about her namesake charity.
If you don’t, Marie Curie is a phenomenal charity supporting patients and families through terminal illnesses. The charity relies heavily on the generosity of the public, making donations, shopping in stores and hosting BLOOMING GREAT TEA PARTY(S).
It’s not too late to sign up to receive your own party pack, with balloons, selfie props, bunting and cute little stickers! Here is how my tea shaped up!
Every tea needs a fancy tea pot, obviously this one was most deserving of the CHIEF TEA BREWER sticker, well who works harder than your teapot when doing a brew?
Would it be BLOOMING GREAT without some blooms? We’ve got artificial daffodils courtesy of my nan, and a bunch of pretty roses, just £3 from Lidl! Doing good on a budget or what!
The donut selfie glasses were my favourite prop of the day, maybe second to the dish washer sticker which I whacked on someone else so I didn’t have to clean up!
Fine china works well to serve up a summer salad (sorry mum!). This little dish is just a cous cous of your preference, mixed with chopped cucumber, tomatoes, mixed leaves and pomegranate seeds. DELISH.
My little sandwich selection was served up on a lovely glass cake stand. When we tea party, we tea party hard. I had to use the fluffy white bread and say goodbye to the diet for the day, all in the name of giving hey!
I sliced up some strawberries not quite the way to the top, and fanned them out. This is a really easy way to snazz up and bring some colour to a cake stand.
WELCOME TO THE BEST BIT CAKES. For this tea, I decided I’d let Mr Kipling do all the hard work, as much as I’m enjoying the beautiful sun I didn’t fancy *baking* myself in the kitchen for cakes sake…hehehe. If someone does fancy doing the baking for YOUR BGTP, Marie Curie have the perfect sticker!
If you’ve got some spare time this weekend, and you’re looking for an excuse to eat all the cakes, why not support an amazing charity in the process?
